John Lawrence Hightower was originally interred on 8 November 1957 in the Elysian Fields Cemetery in Harrison County, Texas. His remains were disinterred in April, 1966 and removed to the Hightower Cemetery.

J. L. Hightower Service Friday

John Lawrence Hightower, 72, Elysian Fields, died Wednesday morning in Kerrville.

Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m., Hebron Church, Elysian Fields. Interment will be at Elysian Fields Cemetery.

Survivors are: wife, Mrs. Gussie Hightower, Elysian Fields; one son, Wayne Lewis Hightower, Latex, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Smith, Cocoa Beach, Fla. and Mrs. Frances Pedro, Elysian Fields; five brothers, H. L. Hightower, O. L. Hightower, Fain Hightower, C. A. Hightower all of Waskom, Walter Hightower, Elysian Fields; three sisters, Mrs. O. J. Harris, Marshall, Mrs. Luie Rudd, Waskom, Mrs. Martha Harris, Elysian Fields; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
