From "The Beloit Gazette", Beloit, Kansas dated Thursday, June 25, 1903, Page 2:
Mrs. Mary Schooley passed away on the 13th inst., at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chris. Kiser, in Carr Creek township, at the age of about 80 years. She had lived in this county for many years. Her husband died some years ago but is survived by a number of children and grand children. Mrs. Schooley had been in poor health for a number of years, at one time being totally blind, but in later years she regained her sight. She was a good, Christian woman and was highly honored and respected by all her neighbors and acquaintances. Since 1880 we had known Mr. and Mrs. Schooley and always held them in the highest esteem because of the correctness of their living and genial, social and happy disposition. Our deepest sympathy goes out to the afflicted families.
