Delilah Catherine Boatman was born in German township March 13, 1857. The daughter of Barnabas and Cassa Hanes Boatman and departed this life on October 11, 1939, aged 82 years six months and 28 days.

On October 29, 1882 she was united in marriage to Marim Brinkley who survives her.
To this union was born four children, Ebb of Spencer, Iowa, Cleve of Ayrshire, Iowa, Claude of Webbe Iowa, George of Dickens, Iowa and Homer of Olney, Ill., all of whom survive. Also 26 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Matilda Wilson of Ncble, who was unable to attend the funeral on account of j illness.

Preceeding her in death were two brothers and two sisters, Jacob and Peter Boatman, Susan, who died in infancy and Mrs. Sarah Brinkley.

She became a member of St. James Eutheran church, June 8, 1878, but because of illness has been unable to attend church services for the past several years. Besides these are a number of nephews, nieces and other relatives and a host of friends.
