"Pike Journal" - (Zebulon, GA) Friday, March 8, 1907:
Death of Mrs. W.C. Clegg.
Mrs. Cora Clegg, wife of Prof. C.W. Clegg, died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Pitts, near Zebulon Wednesday morning. She had been ill only five days. She leaves three children, the youngest only a few days old. Her husband and parents have the sympathy of their friends in her death. Surely the death of a young mother who leaves small children is the saddest of all deaths. Funeral services were held at Flat Rock church yesterday and were conducted by Rev. W. H. Speer. The interment took place in the old Green burial ground.
