OBITUARY

BRAKEY -- Died, April 2, 1891, Irene, Beloved wife of Wm. Brakey, aged 24 years, 3 months and 17 days.

This community was shocked last Thursday morning to learn of the sudden death of Irene, wife of William Brakey. She was sick but a few hours and was unconscious most of the time. Renie had lived among us since she was a little child, and was well beloved by all. She was a prominent worker in the Sunday school, a member of the Methodist church, and foremost, in all good works. There is no one in the community that would be so generally mourned. She was laid to rest in the Bucks Grove cemetery, Friday, April 3, and although the weather was very inclement, a very large concourse of people was assembled. Rev. Job Wykert conducted the solemn services. Mrs. Brakey was a daughter of E.P. McCreight. The bereaved husband and parents have the sympathy of the community.
