Mrs. Carver was born April 26, 1920, in St. Clair, the daughter of William Paiton "Pate" Phillips and wife Mary, nee Bandermann.
On Feb. 17, 1943, she was united in marriage to Francis Elbert Carver Sr.
Mrs. Carver was a member of First Baptist Church, St. Clair, and the St. Clair Senior Citizens Center.
She was employed at International Shoe Company and Deb Shoe Company, both in St. Clair, and Carmo Shoe Company, Union.
Mrs. Carver was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one infant son, Timothy Dean Carver; and one sister, Viola Cook.
She is survived by one son, Francis E. Carver Jr. and wife Maxine, Union; two daughters, Nancy Carver, Union, and Carol Lipinski and husband James "Dan," Richmond, Va.; four brothers, Robert Phillips and wife Frances and Theodore "Ted" Phillips and wife Joyce, all of St. Clair, William Phillips and wife Hatsue, Fullerton, Calif., and John Phillips and wife Debbie, Virginia Beach, Va.; two sisters, Dorothy Osborn and husband Bud, St. Clair, and Lola Rock, Sullivan; six grandchildren, Larry Carver, Leslie, Kimberly Thorpe and husband Bryan, Vancouver, Wash., James Lipinski Jr. and wife Aimee, Richmond, Va.; Steven Lipinski and wife Tara, Surprise, Ariz., Nancy Sutton and husband Sam, Washington; and Chrissy Eckelkamp and husband John, Gerald; seven great-grandchildren, Jordan and Hannah Lipinski, Wesley and Ethan Werner-Carver, Hailey and Matthew Eckelkamp and Ryan Sutton; one brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 5, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, with the Rev. Dr. Phil Turner officiating.
Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Lonedell.
Memorials to the St. Clair Senior Center or First Baptist Church, St. Clair, are preferred.
