DIED.
In Evanston, on Thursday evening [5 October 1899] after a brief illness, Jennie, wife of Chas. M. Hammar, aged 67 years, pneumonia being the immediate cause of her death.
Deceased was a native of Wales and came to this country in early days, settling in Utah. She was married to Mr. Hammar in 1865 at Salt Lake City and six daughters were born by this union, five of whom now reside in our city. They are Mesdames Engstrum, gunnel, allen, Van Ness, Small, and Mrs. Jerry Kelliher of Green River. The Hammars came to Evanston when the shops were moved here from Wasatch, and resided here ever since, and have always been among our best and most respected citizens. Mrs. Hammar was a good wife, a kind and affectionate mother and iwll be sadly missed by her family and a large circle of friends. The funeral will take place on Sunday afternoon [7 October] at 2 o'clock at the Episcopal church.
