Fred B. Ponton 82, Indianapolis died Dec. 10, 2008. He was born on Jan. 20, 1926 in Hillsdale, IN the son of Ollie and Sara (Brown) Ponton. He attended Indiana State University, served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and retired from Ford Motor Co. He was a member of Maple Hill United Methodist Church and a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and NASCAR. Fred was always a farmer in his heart and a great story teller. Survivors: children, Judith (Dick) Kochert and Richard Ponton; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and good friend, Carter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet M. (Wilkins) Ponton; 3 sisters, Jean Kaufman, Mildred Howard and Polly Hamm and brother, John O. Ponton.
