He was the third of five children born to Joseph Henry McNeill and Maude Lillie Crownover McNeill. He married Mary Jewel Lane on June 14, 1941. Later he served three years in the U.S. Army during WWII stationed in Okinawa, Japan.

Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Mark Griffith Memorial Funeral Home Westwood Chapel in Tulsa, with the Rev. Ronny Hardage officiating. Burial is in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa.
