was the son of Henry HAMPER b. 1844 Ashford, England and Emma B. MASON b. 1851 Osceola County, MI. d. 1932, Charles graduated U of M bachelor of law 1891, county attorney in the city of Chicago, and relocated to MI and Was a Prosecuting attorney in Owasso, in 1897 was in Greenville as a attorney. And associated with the Continental Starch Company DEC. 28, 1900 in Greenville. In 1904 he was elected to the office of prosecuting attorney of Shiawassee county m. Sept. 11 1901 Wife Winnetta B. MARSH. b. 1881 MI, d. 1958 buried Oakwood Cemetery, Fenton, MI dau of Robert R. MARSH b. NY mother Ellen COMBS b. England. CHARLES MASON HAMPER at some point moved to Detroit and lived at 282 Lincoln Ave., Detroit. Mich. He was the President of Chapin- Hamper Realty Co and in In 1910 was a tobacco manufacturer in Detroit.
They had three ch:
1)Kathleen HAMPER ct. 16, 1902 Owosso, Shiawassee County, d. d. 15 Aug 2000, m. Edward D. STAIR II, son of the owner of the Detroit Free Press.

*Charles Mason HAMPER was likely related to either F. (Floyd) A. CHAPIN (a cousin?) who's mother was a HAMPER and arrived in the USA abt 1864 from England or the Fredrick A HAMPER b. Woodmere Cemetery Detroit. and Walter R. HAMPER, again through his fathers HAMPER lineage, however I have not established the exact link lineage, Both Floyd or Friderick and Walter both had connection to Fenton and had interests in Detroit area.
