Born to Simion and Eva Anthony, he moved to Orange after being honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1945 while serving during World War II. He then moved to Vinton, Louisiana in 1968 and remained there until his passing.
The last of seven children, he enjoyed playing basketball as a young man and enjoyed watching baseball. He worked for and retired from the Levingston Shipbuilding Company in Orange as an attendant in the tool room.
Preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Eula Bell Willis and his brothers, Louis Anthony, J. M. Anthony, Buck Anthony and John Anthony, those who will most cherish his memory are his loving wife of sixty five years, Lillian (Hughes) Anthony; his daughters, Dianne McKinney and her husband Richard and Sharron Ann Hickman and her husband Hollis; her grandsons, Jason Dean Ramsey and his wife Sharon and Jeremy David Ramsey and wife Stephanie; three great-grandchildren, Stormi Ramsey, Hannah Esponge and Sydney Ramsey.
