CEDAR FALLS - Laurabelle M. Dorsey, 89, of Windsor Nursing & Rehab Center, formerly of Dunkerton and Vinton, died Thursday, Dec. 4, at Windsor. She was born Dec. 2, 1919, in Des Moines, daughter of Grover C. and Katherine B. Young Maplethorpe. She married William C. Dorsey on July 23, 1938, at Calvary Baptist Church, Des Moines. He died July 2, 1994.

She graduated East High School in Des Moines and worked at Hinson Manufacturing and taught piano lessons.

Survived by: two sons, William "Tom" (Cindy) and Charles (Mary); three daughters, Katherine "Kay" Plander V. Dawne (Steve) Buhrow and Elsie (Dean) Rathe; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a brother, Gladwin (Helen) Maplethorpe of Stockton, Calif.; and a sister, Eloise Filardo of Dixon, Calif.

Preceded in death by: two sisters, Jane Hamilton and Martha Marshall; and a son-in-law, James F. Plander.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Dunkerton, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Dunkerton. Public visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.
