Arvella was the daughter of the late Henry Arthur Alt and Grace Susan (Layton) Alt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Eldon and Emory Alt.

She was a member of the Bethel Church of the Brethren and the Landes CEO's.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Arthur; one son; three daughters; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother; two half sisters; and three half brothers.
