Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Lee Cassity McLeod, 89, formerly of Lucedale, were held January 5 (1992) at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Lucedale.

She was a native of Clarke County, Ala., but moved to Lucedale in 1920, where she resided until 1986. She later moved to Bay St. Louis.

She was an award winning Avon Lady. She was widely known for her gardening and sewing interests, including fine needlework. She was an active member of the Extension Homemakers Club for many years, and was an active member of First Baptist Church where she worked in Baptist Training Union and Vacation Bible School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dougle Stewart McLeod, who died
in 1988. They were both active in community and church activities. She died January 2, (1992) at Hancock Medical Center in Bay St. Louis.

She is survived by five children, Jane Ellis of Ventura, Calif.; Earl McLeod of Waveland; Margie Allen of Leland; Anna Robinson of Rock Hill, SC and Billie Caldwell of Lucedale. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren; one sister, Marguerite Cave and a brother, Norwood Cassity, Sr., both of Mobile, Ala.

Officiating at the service was Rev. John L. Turner. Interment was in Magnolia Cemetery with Fails Funeral Service directing. Published in the George County Times, January 7, 1992. Submitted by Betty R Marshall.
