Born Jan. 15, 1904, in Valparaiso, he was the son of John D. and Kittie (Polhamus) Collins. On Aug 22, 1953 he married [2nd] Flora E. Kohlbaugh, who survives.

Surviving besides the widow are two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Phyllis)
McNamara, Valparaiso, and Mrs. Betty Clark, Richmond, Ind.; six grandchildren, and one sister, Miss Annetta Collins, Crystal Lake, Ill.

A life-long resident of Porter county, Collins retired in 1962 after being a rural mail carrier for 33 years. He was a member of the Porter County Protective association, Porter County Conservation club and Indiana Civil Defense.

He worked for the county assessor's office for several years.

Collins was an amateur radio operator with the call letters of W9HDB.

Services entrusted to Bartholomew Funeral home.
