Mrs. Nell Hertel, 71, of St. Louis, formerly of Mountain Home, died Sunday, April 10, 2005, in St. Louis.

Mrs. Hertel moved to St. Louis from Mountain Home in 1953.

She attended Arkansas Teachers College for two years and also studied at Barnes College for Laboratory Technicians.

She married Dr. Ronald Hertel June 10, 1956, at the Methodist Church in Mountain Home. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in St. Louis.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Ronald Hertel; son Bryant (Cynthia) Hertel; daughter Holly (Jeff) McKinney; six grandchildren, Mark, Jeannie, Kodi and Duncan Hertel and Claire and Riley McKinney, all of St. Louis; nephew Bill (Renee) Worthen Jr. of Minneapolis; and niece, Belva (Win) Prather of Springfield, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Worthen and sister-in-law, Emma Worthen.

A private graveside service was Thursday at Baxter Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to Nell W. Hertel Medical Scholarship at Washington University, Campus Box 1, Brookings Drive, St. Louis, MO 63130 or to Grace United Methodist Church Endowment Fund, 6199 Waterman, Skinker, Missouri 63112.
