Samuel M. Wright, age 94 of Middleville, MI, formerly of Holly, died Tuesday, September 9, 2008. Mr. Wright was born in Billings, Montana on Aug. 22, 1914 the son of Samuel and Nancy (McDaniel) Wright. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and as a young man he won medals for sharp shooting. He was the former owner of Sinclair and Mobil Oil Supply Companies in Holly for over 30 years. He was a member of the Holly Lodge #134 F&AM and was a past-president of the Holly Kiwanis Club and a former trustee of the Holly Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife Gertrude; 2 children, Jackie (Jim) Schnackenberg of Hastings and Gil "Buzz"(Lynne Haggard) Wright of Manhattan Beach, CA ; 3 grandchildren, Max Wright of CA, Ryan Schnackenberg of MI, and Matt Schnackenberg of MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters Cleo Steward and Carra Sheets.
