Mrs. Sue Allbright Cook, age 92 of Porter Springs, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2008 in the Whitehall Nursing Center in Crockett. Mrs. Cook was born April 9, 1915 in Houston County, Texas and she had lived all of her lifetime in Houston County. Mrs. Cook was a member of the Porter Springs Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her son Alvin Cook and wife Faye, of Porter Springs; daughter Sue Nash and husband Cecil, of Troup; grandchildren Billy Cook and wife Lisa, of Era, Larry Cook and wife Tammy, of Porter Springs, Susan Wall and husband Robert, of Overton, Bonnie Thomas and husband Tony and Marty McDougald and husband Mark, all of Troup; great-grandchildren Maria Cook and fiancé Dustin Vaught, Daphne McLaughlin and husband Jay, Valarie Cook, Amanda Cook, Danny Thomas, Jennifer Cook and fiancé A. J. Shivers, Whitney Cook, Alex Cook, Nick Cook, Justin Cook, Troy, Aaron, Jacob, John, Douglas and Jonah McDougald; great-great-grandchildren Dayin James, Raven Wooten, Dillon McLaughlin and Savannah Cook; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by her husband Douglas Cook in 1985; parents Edd and Hatie Allbright; seven brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Sue Allbright Cook were held Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Porter Springs Cemetery Pavilion with the Rev. Carl Standley officiating. Interment followed in the Porter Springs Cemetery.
