Mrs. Cecil Baublit, daughter of the late Frank and Frances Turner of Cleveland Township passed away at Wabash County Hospital at 8:25 Wednesday where she was taken late Sunday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Baublit and daughter Martha had been to home of Mr. Baublit's father Charles Baublit south of Collamer and were returning to their home in Peru about 10:30 p.m. Sunday evening when their car sideswiped a car owned by Howard Jones from north of Wabash which had stalled along the highway.
Mr. Baublit did not see the car, due to poor visibility until he was only 8 to 10 feet from the parked car. He immediately swerved the car to one side but the right side of the car struck the back of the stalled vehicle and tore the door off and threw Mrs. Baublit to the highway causing a head injury from which she never regained consciousness. Martha Baublit received a head and leg injury and Mr. Baublit received a leg injury. The car was damaged to the extent of $150.
