Estelle Payne Hardy, 91, of the Brian Center Nursing Home, and formerly of 515 Rose Ave., Clifton Forge, Virginia died Sunday, April 17, 2005 at the Brian Center Nursing Home in Low Moor.
She was born February 21, 1914, in Bath County, a daughter of the late Ernest and Pauline Thompson Payne.
She was a member of Central United Methodist Church for many years and was a dental assistant in the office of Dr. Ralph Crabil, DDS, when she retired.
Survivors include daughter-in-law, Sandra Pivont Hardy of Clifton Forge, a granddaughter Lisa H. Lester & husband Steve, of Wytheville; a grandson, Brad Hardy and wife, Cindy, of Malvern, Pa.; five great-grandchildren, Drew and Hardy Lester of Wytheville, and Susanna, Marissa and Griffin Hardy of Malvern, Pa.; three sisters, Dorothy Downey of Clifton Forge, Jerri Dunn and her husband Bob, of Bedford, Pa., and Irene Hunt of Portsmouth; a sister-in-law, Millie Hardy of Roanoke, a brother-in-law, Otis Bower of Clifton Forge, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Hamilton Hardy; a son, John Hamilton Hardy; a sister, Josephine Baker; and a brother Kenneth Payne.
