Letha Lillian Holt, age 89, of Neosho, Mo., passed away at Neosho Freeman Hospital on Dec. 3, 2008, after a short illness.

Letha was born Sept. 28, 1919, in Ennis, Texas. She was the daughter of Joseph and Helena Densmore.

During World War II, Letha was a nurse at Pryor and Vinita, Okla. She married Rufus H. Holt on Oct. 24, 1942, in El Paso, Texas, shortly before Rufus was deployed overseas. Letha and Rufus lived in Miami, Okla., where she was a homemaker. Both she and her husband were very active at the First Christian Church, of Miami. Upon Rufus' death in March 2000, Letha moved to Neosho, to be closer to her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband; four brother; and three sisters. Letha is survived by her son, John and wife, Colleen Holt, of Neosho. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Charlie Holt, of Fayetteville, Ark., John II and wife, Tammy Holt, of Neosho, and Julie Holt, of Edmond, Okla.; one great-grandson, Nicholas Holt, of Neosho; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Paul Thomas Funeral Chapel in Miami, with the Rev. Leon Weece officiating. Family received friends Friday at the funeral home in Miami. Interment will follow in the Fairland Cemetery under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home, of Miami.
