Today, we celebrate the homegoing of Vada Lesteen Andler, age 84, wife of the late John Phillip Andler Sr. Mrs. Andler was born in Bascom, Fla. She was one of 11 children and has one surviving sister, Rebecca Suber. She attended Florida State College for Women in Tallahassee and was director of the Baptist Center in Panama City, Fla., for the past 45 years. Her dedication to her Lord and her community were her greatest attributes and her service in these areas is a legacy she leaves her family.

Mrs. Andler is survived by four children, Phyllis Land and husband, James, of Marietta, Ga., Mike Andler and wife, Nancy, of Sneads, Fla., John Andler of Decatur, Ga., and Jeff Andler and wife, Lynn, of of Charlotte, N.C.; a close extended family member and faithful co-worker, Patricia Brown of Panama City, Fla.; five grandchildren, Kimberli McCullough of Sharpsburg, Ga., Stephen Land of Monroe, Ga., Jeremy Andler of Stanley, N.C., Lyndsay Andler of Lynchburg, Va., and Kristen Andler of Chattahoochee, Fla.; seven great-grandchildren, Levie, Rayna, Maya and Corrin Land of Monroe, Ga., Jake, Luke and Hope McCullough of Sharpsburg, Ga.; one great-great-granddaughter, Haven Noel Andler of Stanley, N.C.

Funeral arrangements will be provided by Lanier-Andler Funeral Home in Sneads, Fla. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. CDT Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at Northside Baptist Church at 530 Airport Road in Panama City, Fla. There will be visitation three hours prior to the funeral. Jerry Moore, Jeff Steen and Jeffery Andler will be officiating the services. Graveside services will be at Evergreen Memorial Garden in Panama City, Fla.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Baptist Center, P.O. Box 3806, Panama City, Fla., 32401.
