Mrs. Peggy Holley "Paw Paw" Alpaugh, 103, of Panama City, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 20, 2009, in a local hospital. She was born in Point Washington and was a lifelong resident of this area. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Andrew Methodist Church for over 50 years where she served in the Rebecca Circle. During her life she was active in the Eastern Star where she was a past Royal Matron and Patron, Daughters of the Nile, and the Ammarants. Paw Paw as she was affectionately referred to, never met a stranger and she affected so many young people's lives. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.T. Alpaugh. She is survived by her son, William J. "Chappy" Chambers, Jr.; grandchildren, Mark Chambers and wife Tammy and Brian Lee Chambers; and great grandchildren, Brandon Lee Chambers, Connor Hayden Chambers, and Ivy Ellis Chambers all of Panama City. Funeral services for Mrs. Alpaugh will be held on Monday, November 23, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the Southerland Family Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens with the Rev. David Cook and Rev. Chris Cook officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as active pallbearers, Rhett Holley, Wayne Holley, Buddy Holley, Richard Holley, Richard Holley, and Gilbert Ray. The family will be receiving friends this afternoon at the funeral home from 4:00 till 6:00 PM. For those who wish, donations may be made to the St. Andrew Endowment Fund in memory of Mrs. Alpaugh. There will be a reception at St. Andrew Methodist Fellowship Hall immediately following the service.
