George Washington Pickle son of Robert and Nancy Jones Pickle was born Nov 21, 1824 in Alabama. The Pickles were originally from Denmark, coming across the Atlantic very eary in the great move to America settling in Penn and later moved to Alabama.
George W was one of nine children. His brothers were: William J, Jeremiah J, Henry, John F and Jesse W T. His sisters were: Sarah B Jones, Martha and Nancy. (NOTE brother Chirstopher Jones Pickle was omited)
George's mother, Nancy died and in 1849 his father married Mrs. Adeline Sutherland, mother of Mary Davis and Celia Bartlett.
To Robert and Adeline were born O. J (should be A J)], Benjamin Pickle and Louisa Pickle Martin. . .
The children of both Mary & Celia death certificates list their mothers as Pickle as well as the 1850 & 1860 census. Robert S Pickle was their stepfather.
Adeline must have given birth and her 1st husband died prior to birth of Cecelia? the bio says Robert & Adeline married in 1849, same year Celia was born.
George Washington Pickle was 25 yrs old at the birth of Celia so he was there when she was born. Both the girls marriage records list them as Sutherland. The informants on the children's death certificates were incorrect.
