John Peter Eckenroth is possibly the grandson of Johannes Petrus Ickerodt brn. 1700. See link below.

submitter's note: It is unknown what his actual birthdate was. I would suggest further research. I think it is earlier than this date posted. It is a mystery to me if the parents listed on bio links are his actual parents, therefore it is unconfirmed who his parents are.

John Peter Eckenroth married Elizabeth Margaret?__ Hermany__? On June 10th 1758, Peter Ecrot (Eckroth) was listed as owning a draught horse by Constable John Holder in his report to Sheriff John Rinker of "the number of Wagons, Draught and Pack horses in Lynn Township, Northampton County" (History of Lehigh County, PA, 1914, pages 96 and 97. In the Letters of Administration were granted to his widow, Elizabeth, which also appointed George Hermany and Henry Eckroth- in that order - as sureties for faithful performance of her administration. "Northampton County Orphan's Court, File 501) (WK-book page 143).

By March 18th 1773, before she (Elizabeth Margaret)had completed Administration of her deceased husband's estate, Elizabeth Margaret died. (Northampton County Orphan's Court File #523). George Hermany was appointed administrator "De Bonis Non" on 25 March 1773 for settlement of inventory and appraisal of Elizabeth's estate (File #501). (WK-book page 144)

Distribution was "two shares to the oldest son" and "one share each to three other children" showing that although Peter and Elizabeth Margaret Eckroth 2 may have had more children only four were surviving as of 1784. (WK-book page 144).

In the final settlement account of Peter's estate dated 29th May 1784, no reference was made to the disposition of the "168 acre new improvement" purchased or inherited by Peter from his father's estate in 1760. Nor has any record been found showing the conveyance of the property from Peter 2 to anyone. However, there can be no doubt that on the death of Peter and Elizabeth this tract of land descended to his younger brother, George Eckroth(2) (WK-book page 144)

Please note: Younger brother George Eckroth(2) also known as George Eckroth/Eckroat.

Please note: There is a possibly that John Peter was the Uncle of George Eckroth and not the Younger brother as quoted in the WK-book.
