Mrs. Christine Colston

Mrs. Christine Colston, 79, of Many, died on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 4:40 p.m., following an extended illness.

Mrs. Colston is survived by three sons, Sylvester Colston, Howard Colston, and Aubrey Colston, all of Many; a daughter, Mrs. Doris Russell of Beaumont, Tex.; three half-brothers, Dora VanVeckhoven, and Victor VanVeckhoven, both of Florien, and Ott VanVeckhoven of Lake Charles; two sisters, Mrs. Rosie Robbins of Robeline, and Mrs. Viola Martin of Houston, Tex.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Agnes Nelms of Hornbeck, and Mrs. Vilonia Marcus of Tioga, La.; 11 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in the Ft. Jesup First Baptist Church on Friday, March 1, at 11:30 a.m., with the Rev. H. H. Tibbits, the Rev. Loyd Sowers, and Bishop Glen Hardy officiating.

Burial was in the Ft. Jesup Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were W. D. Colston, Billy Wayne Colston, Kenneth Colston, DeWayne Colston, Gene Cabra, and Dick Spears.
