SHREVEPORT, LA - Services will be conducted at Centuries Funeral Home Chapel for Bertha Bain, age 81, of Shreveport, LA, on Friday, April 13, 2001 at 12:30 p.m. Officiating will be Fr. Peter Mangum, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment to follow in Centuries Memorial Park.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 - 8 p.m.

She entered into rest on Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at Willis-Knighton South Medical Center after a sudden illness. She was born in Many, LA and lived in Shreveport for most of her life.
Mrs. Bain was preceded in death by her husband, David Bain, Sr., and a son, David Bain, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Lillian Cobb and husband Robert of Shreveport, LA. one son, Albert Bain of Shreveport, LA. one daughter-in-law, Mary Bain of Keithville, LA. one granddaughter, Sharon Cobb of Shreveport, LA. one sister, Clem Smith of Shreveport, LA two brothers, Cecil Vanveckhoven and wife Rose of Pine Bluff, AR and Truman Vanveckhoven and wife Ann of Monroe, LA and numerous nieces and nephews.
