Widow's Pension file states that his spouse was Melvina Slimp and that she remarried after William's death to C T Loyd on Feb 8, 1868. Link to the incorrect spouse has been removed.

Served in Co. A, 13th Tennessee Cavalry (Union).
Enlisted at the age of 28 on Sept. 24, 1863.
Died in Cumberland General Hospital from inflammatory rheumatism.
