Ada Sessions Eddins, 91, died peacefully on Wednesday, Feb 17, 1999. Funeral services, under the direction of Bishop Clyde Rainey, were held in the Afton 2nd Ward, Feb 23, 1999 at 1 p.m.
Ada was the first daughter and second child of Edward and Effie Child Sessions. In 1919 the family traded the Crow Creek homestead in Hardman Hollow for a house in Afton. After graduating from Star Valley High School, she worked for Dr D.O. Beal. She started as a receptionist and ended up doing the anesthetics for many of Dr. Beal's surgeries.
Ada married Orland Eddins, Mar 17, 1930 in Paris Id. After marriage they moved to the Eddins homestead in the narrows. In 1935, she and Orlan moved to Afton where she ran the Afton School Store until 1940 when they moved to Idaho Falls. She has resided in Afton since 1950.Despite suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and an abscessed lung at the age of 33, she never complained or let it slow her down. She won many blue ribbons for knitting and crocheting at the county fair. Thirty years ago she started doing genealogy and writhing family histories on Sessions grandfathers back to 1630, and the Eddins back to 1775, as well as a genealogy date base with over 10,000 names in it to her family and genealogy researchers. during the summer of the 90th year, she typed her won 68 page history into a computer using Microsoft Word.
She is survived by her sons Orland Ned and Albert s. seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; her brother Marvin and two sisters, Hazel Parsons and Wilma Titensor,
Her parents, Edward and Effie Sessions, one sister Emma and three brothers LaDell, Lowell and John preceded her in death.
