Galen was born February 2, 1942, in Dallastown, a son of the late Wilmer and Beatrice (Lloyd) Ehrhart.
Galen was a graduate of Dallastown High School and a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. Galen was employed with Jorama Ranch since 1995, where he sold and serviced horse and utility trailers. In his earlier years, he was a body and paint man in the auto industry. Galen was a past member of the Indian Valley Appaloosa Club, Keystone Appaloosa Club, Central PA Appaloosa Association, Free State Appaloosa Club, Mason Dixon Appaloosa Club, Maryland Appaloosa Club and the National Appaloosa Horse Club. He was also past president of the Keystone Appaloosa Club and Show Chairman to KAC's Quentin Horse Show for many years. Galen showed horses successfully on a national level.
Surviving are two sons, Joel Ehrhart and Daryll L. Ehrhart and his fiance, Lynette R. Noll; two grandsons, Daryll L. Ehrhart, Jr. and Brandon T. Ehrhart; two sisters Mildred Fake and Delores Slenker. Also surviving is his companion, Cindy Cerrone; his former wife, Sharon D. Shearer; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are four brothers, Raymond, Richard, Gerald, and Dale; and a sister, Gladys.
Burial of ashes will be private and at the convenience of the family.
