Ernest W. "Bud" Seehafer
Memorial services will be held Wednesday for Ernest W. "Bud" Seehafer who died suddenly in Willits on Aug. 17, 1984 at age 57. He was a native of Corvallis, Ore. and a resident of Eureka.
Mr. Seehafer came to Eureka in 1949. A truck driver for 35 years, he had been driving a truck for Louisiana Pacific. Prior to that he had been driving for Hammond Lumber Co. and Georgia Pacific.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and had served in the South Pacific and the Phillippine Liberation.
Mr. Seehafer was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge of Eureka.
He was a pilot and his favorite hobby was flying.
He will be remembered for his many friendships and for his devotion as a husband and a father.
Mr. Seehafer is survived by his wife, . . . of the home, his son, . . ., his step-son, . . . , his step-daughter, . . . , his brother, Charles Wigle of Forest Grove, Ore., his sister, Ruby Murry of Newport Beach, his granddaughters, . . . [two], and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Helen Seehafer and his step-son, Terry Denney.
Friends are invited to attend memorial services at Ocean View Cemetery in Eureka at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Wesley Powell of the Eureka First Baptist Church officiating.
Private inurnment will be held at Ocean View Cemetery Mausoleum.
Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Ferns Cooper Mortuary, Eureka.
