Marie was born on August 6, 1925 and went home to be with the Lord on November 26, 2008. She and her husband were long time members of Campers on Mission. In 1992, they helped in the construction of Crestview Baptist Church in Farmerville, LA. After many years of living in Shreveport, LA, they moved to Farmerville and have been active members of Crestview Baptist Church since that time.
For many years, Marie taught Sunday School at Sunset Acres Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA. She was a licensed aircraft pilot and was office manager of Greater Shreveport Air Service at the time of her retirement in October 1985. Marie's greatest joy in life was her family and her church. She is preceded in death by her father, mother, and three brothers.
She is survived by Richard E. Blake, her husband of 62 ½ years; four sons, Rev. Richard L. Blake and wife Stephanie of Cleburne, TX; James R. Blake and wife Elizabeth of Marion, LA; Rev. Jerry W. Blake and wife Diane of Graham, TX; Rev. Bobby J. Blake and wife Debbie of Eugene, OR; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; four sisters; two brothers; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Crestview Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to Crestview Baptist Church building fund or the Louisiana Chapter of Campers on Mission.
