C.W.O. Clyde S. Ball, ("Ret."), 73, of Tacoma, Wash., died November 24, 1993. He was born in Roanoke. Mr. Ball served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was a P.O.W. in Germany. He also did tour of duty in Austria and Korea. Clyde was a man who loved his family and friends and shared generously with others and always enjoyed a good story. His warmth will be missed by many. He is mourned by his wife of 35 years, Marge Ball, Tacoma, Wash.; one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald D. and Jill Ball, Simpsonville, S.C.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Judy and Raymond Byers, Vinton, Carol A. Ball, Florida; one stepdaughter and her husband, Linda and Darwayne Batway, Tacoma, Wash.; two brothers, Emmett O. Ball, Roanoke, Billy B. Ball, Bedford; six grandchildren, Cindy Byers Hunnell, Randy Byers, Adam Ball, Aaron Ball, Nathan Batway, Joshua Batway. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 29, 1994, 2 p.m., at Woodside Presbyterian Church, Roanoke Ave., S.W., Roanoke.
