Interment followed in Old Union Cemetery under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia, La.
Mr. Alger passed away Thursday June 5 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
He was retired from the Louisiana Forestry Commission.
Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Willie Honeycutt Alger, Grayson; 1 son, Mr. A. J. Alger, Grayson; 1 brother, Mr. Thomas Alger, Columbia; 1 half brother, Mr. Marshall Alger, Mississippi; 1 half sister, Mrs. Verdell Solomon, West Monroe, and 4 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Blaine Cobb, Jerre Hurst, Duey Honeycutt, Jerre Allen Hurst, James Trozuille, and Billy Solomon.
