Mary was the daughter of:
Charles David Cooley and Flora Rosetta Derrick Cooley. She had five siblings: Benjamin Walter Cooley(my father), Charles Clyde Cooley, Arthur Llewllen Cooley, Sarah Mahittable Cooley, and Audre Esther Cooley. She was born in Grants Pass, Oregon while the family still lived there. At this time her father(Charles David, grandpa to me) was employed by the Electric Power Company and this then took the family to Winchester, Oregon. Mary became crippled by Polio and passed away in Portland at the age of eight. She also had Brights Disease.
My wife Reva and I purchased the permanent marker that now identifies her place in Milwaukie Pioneer Cemetery next to her grandmother Sarah Mahittable Cooley. The old original wooden markers for both Mary and Sarah long ago rotted and disapeared.
