From the MYRTLE POINT ENTERPRISES - 13 March, 1903:
"Elizabeth Lewellen, wife of H. Lewellen, passed away at her home in this city, Tuesday after a long illness, in the 78th year of her age. The deceased was a native of Ohio, where she was born April 24, 1825. When a girl she moved with her parents to Ind., and 1847 was united in marriage to H. Lewellen, her maiden name was Casteel. In 1844, they moved to Iowa, and in 1875 moved to this state and settled in Myrtle Point. Eight children was the result of this union - four boys and four girls - five of whom survive her - two sons and three daughters. Besides her children, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren having proceeded her to the other world. Funeral services were held at the German Baptist Church, and the remains interred in the Myrtle Point Cemetery."

(Note: The foregoing obituary is in error as to when the couple moved to Iowa - certainly not in 1844, since they weren't married until 1847. They probably moved to Iowa in 1854, based on birth place of some of their children, and they are in Iowa on the 1856 state census)
