William C. 'Bill' Brownlee Sr.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Memory Chapel for William C. "Bill" Brownlee Sr., 76, of the Sharon community, who died Nov. 27, 2008, at South Central Regional Medical Center.
Burial will be in the Florence Cemetery in Jones County.
Mr. Brownlee was a former chief deputy with the Jones County Sheriff's Department and retired as chief of public safety for South Mississippi State Hospital. He was also a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Betty Nell Johnson Brownlee; his second wife, Chattie Welborn Brownlee; and his parents, Sim and Ethel Brownlee.
Survivors include a son, Billy Brownlee Jr. of Eucutta; two daughters, Karen King of Bay Springs and Avis Horner of Hackett, Ark.; two brothers, W.S. Brownlee and Bobby Brownlee, both of Sandersville; two stepdaughters, Ann Holifield of Birmingham, Ala., and Kathy Bailey of Sharon; two stepsons, Dennis Ball of Laurel and Freddie Ball of Sharon; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 18 step-great-grandchildren.
