Cousin William was the son of Sarah Jones Giffin and William Giffin. He was married to Julia Minnick and had three children (Helen, Hazel, and Ralph). William died from burns he received from a premature explosion of powder in a mine in the Broad Top region (Pa) on May 7, 1929. He had died at Mercy Hospital in Altoona, Pa. William was being treated for first degree burns on his face and arms. He was a member of the Everett Church of the Brethren.
