Isham R. Sheffield was the son of Isham Sheffield and Elizabeth Jane Roberts. Isham R. Sheffield married Martha R. Lane on June 6, 1833 in Early County, Georgia.

Isham R Sheffield and Martha Rice Lane Sheffield had 11 children. All of the children are listed in the family Bible belonging to Isham R. Sheffield and Martha R Lane.

Isham served as a State Representative. He was Miller County's (GA) first representative.

SHORT STOPS
Mr. Isham R. Sheffield, of Miller County, died at his home on Saturday night last. The deceased was a prominent citizen of his county, and at the time of his death was a candidate for Legislative honors. He was a brother of Hon. R.W. Sheffield, of this county.

Gravesite Details

Headstone is cracked but has been repaired as can be seen in the picture. Isham R. Sheffield's marker was broken many years ago. Scott Sheffield and Amos George, both descendants, repaired the broken marker.
