Glenn Lewis Staton, Sr., 60, of 4712 State Park Rd., passed away at his home Saturday, August 2, 2008, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Glenn was born on February 24, 1948 in Marietta, SC to the late James O. and Lucy Mae Duncan Staton. Over the years Glenn made many lifelong friends while playing in local bands and working at Rental Uniform, Ideal Uniform Service, Trailer Rental, and most recently at Horizon CNC.
Glenn enjoyed many hobbies including singing, playing keyboards, woodworking, fishing and trips to the mountains. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Glenn was very knowledgeable in auto mechanics and home repair and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need.
In addition to his loving wife of 20 years, Cindy Staton, Glenn leaves behind two loving sons: Glenn L. Staton, Jr. and wife Christy of Simpsonville, and John A. Staton of Inman; three grandsons: Andrew and Nicholas Staton of Simpsonville, and Hunter Staton of Inman; one stepson: Roy Lee Cox; one stepdaughter: Melissa Carlton and husband Michael; three step-grandchildren: Nicol Reeves, Curtis Redding, and Megan Carlton; one great-grandchild: Harley Jay Lillie Reeves all of Travelers Rest; one brother: Thomas Staton and wife Phyllis of Travelers Rest; one sister: Susan Ellenburg and husband Ansel of Marietta; and one sister-in-law Sarah Staton of Easley.
He was predeceased by one brother Jimmy Staton.
