Gene Alexander went to meet the Lord on Nov. 23, 2008. He accepted the Lord and was baptized, at the age of 82, by Rev. Jerry Venable at the First Assembly of God Church in Howe.
Gene was born in Ravia, Okla., Sept. 30, 1918 to Leon and Hattie (Romine) Alexander. He married Marjorie Clement Hood on June 16, 2001, in Denison. Gene lived most of his life in Collin County, and later moved to Denison in 2001. He retired from Kraft Foods after 32 years of service. Gene loved country/gospel music and was an avid Rangers baseball fan.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Denison; son, Ricky Gene Alexander and wife, Tammy of Anna; granddaughter, Valerie Kacmarcik and husband, Cameron of Euless; great-grandson, Xander Kacmarcik; stepsons, James Hood and wife, Linda of Denison, Randy Hood and wife, Debbie of Sherman, and Ricky Hood of Denison; stepdaughter, Renee Ragsdale and husband, Kevin of Collinsville; several step-grandchildren; and several step-greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Alexander and all of his brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, with Rev. Jerry Venable and Rev. Dennis Senter officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation one hour prior to the service.
