He was born in Altoona, son of the late Charles and Catherine (Shubert) Bottomfield. He married Lois Brubaker April 19, 1947.
Surviving are his wife; in-laws: Ronald and Velma Eastep, and Dwight and Joan Brubaker; and many special nephews and nieces, all dear to his heart. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles; and sisters: Helen Cardone, Marjorie Polito and Dorothy Stoehr.
Mr. Bottomfield was a 1941 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School.
Mr. Bottomfield retired from New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. in 1984.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Hollidaysburg. He enjoyed many hobbies, especially woodworking and stained glass, and he recently enjoyed making many beautiful items on his embroidering machine.
Friends will be received from 10 to the 11 a.m. service Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, with Pastor Ralph Hamer officiating, at Liebegott-Brown Funeral Home, 1218 Fourth Ave., Duncansville (www.LiebegottBrown.com). Interment at Alto Reste Park Cemetery.
