Millard Everett "Billy" Beck, 93, widower of Edna Messer Beck passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at his home.
Born in Hot Springs, NC he was the son of the late John A. and Rosa Gowan Beck.
He was a charter member of Bethel Baptist Church and was a retired contractor.
Surviving are 2 sons, Thomas Beck, James Beck and wife Linda, all of Laurens; 2 daughters, Mary Evans and husband Ralph, Barbara Culbertson and husband Danny, all of Laurens; 10 grandchildren, Janie Evans, Wilson Evans, Karen C. Ivey, Jason Culbertson, Pam Byars, Michael Beck, Stephen Beck, Leslie Beck, Tim Beck, and Emily Starnes; and 14 great-grandchildren. Mr. Beck was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Friday, November 28, 2008 at Bethel Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Branch and Rev. Jack Reid with burial in the church cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, The Hospice & Palliative Care Foundation, 900 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
