Viles Funeral Services To Be Held Friday

Mrs. Romona Beatrice Viles, 43, 713 South Sixth street, died yesterday evening at the Atchison hospital. She had been ill several months. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Stanton chapel with the Rev. Roy Fields, Jr., pastor of the First Christian church, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon cemetery. Members of the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at the Stanton Mortuary. She was born Aug. 21,1930, at Phippsburg, Colo., a daughter of Robert and Verda Byers, and attended schools at Plainville and at Downs. Mrs. Viles was a member of the Downs Christian church. She worked as a waitress and was employed by Benedictine College in traffic patrol in 1970-71. Surviving are her husband, Charles L. Viles, 725 Park street; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Pam) Hargrove and Miss Ramona Ray Bomberger, both of Atchison; three sons, Kenneth McCune and Ray (Butch) Bomberger, both of Topeka, and Michael Bruce Bomberger, Oskaloosa; two sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Birdie Mae) Paget, Waldo, and Mrs. Charles (Ann) Houghton, Atchison, N.M., Charles T. Byers, Redding, Calif., Robert B. Byers, Atchison, and George E. Bair, Plainville, and her mother, Mrs. Verda McCune, of the home.
