Meredith "Bud" Rothrock Jr., 67, of 16th Street died at 2:20 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 1996, at his home.

He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, worked at Thompson Dairy for 29 years and retired from Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp.

Funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Inlow and Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street, with the Rev. David Lee officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 11:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Bartholomew County Area Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Rothrock was born in Columbus May 1, 1929, the son of Meredith and Margaret Spaulding Rothrock. He married Dorothy M. Lowver Oct. 9, 1948. She survives.

Also surviving are daughters, Judith S. Murphy of Seymour and Kathy Jo Mellis of Hope; a son, William E. Rothrock of Shelbyville; sisters, Helen Elmer of Columbus and Mary Murray of Scipio; grandchildren, Shannon K. Murphy and William J. and Laurel Rothrock; and two great–grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Rothrock.

Funeral for Meredith "Bud" Rothrock Jr., 67, of 16th Street was conducted Wednesday at Barkes, Inlow and Weaver Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Lee officiating.

Burial was at Garland Brook Cemetery. Pallbearers were Paul and William J. Rothrock, David and Tom Chavis, Neil Martin and Chuck Butler. Special music was provided by a member of the Stewart Bagpipe Corps.

Mr. Rothrock died Sunday, May 5, 1996, at his home.
