Mr. E.J. Maxwell
At his home in Washington street on Saturday, November 26, Mr. E.J. Maxwell, who passed more than four-score years of service entered into rest, after a long life bravely and usefully lived. He was surrounded by his loved ones when the end came, and funeral services were held at the house on Sunday morning, with the Rev. Brother Moore and the Masons jointly conducting the last sad rites.
Mr. Maxwell is survived by his widow and four daughters, Mrs. Jerry Hackett of North Carolina, Mrs. L.F. Simmons of Birmingham, Ala., Mrs. P.A. Jones (sic), also of
Birmingham, and Miss Anita Maxwell.
