She moved to Buchanan County, in 1861 and joined the Methodist Church in 1882. She left Iowa for Minnesota and lived there a few years and then came back to Iowa in 1890 making her home at Battle Creek and becoming a member of the Methodist Church here.
She was the mother of 9 children, 2 died in infancy. Nancy J. died in 1898; James H. died in 1902; Sarah died in 1903, and one died while in the Army.
Survivors include 3 children (two sons I.N. and H.B. Booth) and one daughter, Mrs. G. W. Spitzer, also 18 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren
