He was the son of Clarence Dewey and Veronica (Randall) O'Barr.
He married Ann Stone on July 17, 1959.
They had three sons: Ricky, Bryon and Berry O'Barr.

Clarence Eugene "Gene" O'Barr, age 81 of Temple, Georgia met his heavenly father face to face in the early morning of August 11, 2021. He was born June 11, 1940 in Atlanta, Georgia, son of the late Clarence Dewey O'Barr and the late Henry Veronica Randall O'Barr.
He retired from United Airlines after many years of service and was a member of Villa Rica First Baptist Church. Gene also loved to hunt and fish, a love that he passed down to his three sons. Gene was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and hardly ever missed a game.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Jimmie O'Barr Davidson; brother, Ronnie Randall O'Barr; grandson, Joshua Michael O'Barr; granddaughter, Kalyn Denise O'Barr; niece, Debbie Davidson Meeks; great-niece, Angela Marie Davidson; and great-nephew, Michael Alan Young.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Helen Ann Stone O'Barr of Temple; sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Jeri O'Barr of Kissimmee, Florida, Barry and Lisa O'Barr of Clermont, Florida, and Bryan O'Barr of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren, Megan O'Barr Johnson, Cory O'Barr, Taylor O'Barr, Kelcy O'Barr and Kasey O'Barr; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM from First Baptist Church Villa Rica with Pastor Kevin Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Ricky O'Barr, Barry O'Barr, Bryan O'Barr, Cory O'Barr, Dennis McKinney, and Jerry McKinney serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church Villa Rica from 12:00 PM until the hour of service.
