Elizabeth (Clark) Preston m. 10 May 1779, at Rumney, to William Preston; she was the mother of 12 children, 11 of whom survived her.
She is only perhaps the Elizabeth Clark, bap. April 1760, First Congregational Church, Haddam, Conn, dau. Joseph Clark, presumed sister to Charles, Joseph, Jonathan, Susannah, and Michael Clark, all later of Rumney, born or baptized to Joseph Clark 2nd and wife Elizabeth, ancestry unknown, at Haddam.

Current evidence about the family of William Preston indicates that with his first wife, Elizabeth, 12 chldren were born, as follows:

i. William Preston, b. 1780;
ii. Collins Preston (1782-1812);
iii. Benjamin Preston (1784-1828),
iv. Elizabeth (Preston) Keyser (1786-1847);
v. Henry D. Preston (1788-1853);
vi. John Preston, b. 1789;
vii. Michael Preston (1792-1849);
viii. Wells Preston (1794-1816);
ix. Hannah Preston (twin; 1796-1797);
