James Allen Tarvin,88, of Shannon Hills, passed away Thursday October 16,2008. Allen was born in Paron, Arkansas on February 26, 1920 to Jesse Lee and Sena Woodall Tarvin. He was proceded in death by both of his parents;two beloved wives, Aileen Randolph Tarvin and Rose Williamson Tarvin and all six of his siblings. He proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps and received a Purple Heart in World War II. He had a great green thumb when it came to his garden. He loved to dance, tell stories and was a great story teller. Allen leaves behind five children, all of whom he was very proud of: Janelle Garvey, Dorothy Mathison, Jim Tarvin, Kathy Lovell, and Betty Filbert. His children blessed him with twelve grandchildre, eleven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. His daughter Kathy's devoted care enabled him to fulfill his deep desire to remain in his home throughout the last years of his long life.Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday October 19 at Ashby Funeral Home.Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday OCtober 20 at Fowler Cemetary in Paron. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jesse Allen Tarvin Memorial Account c/o Metropolitan National Bank.
